Home FAQ FAQ to Addons Module Positions
Module Positions

JoomGallery offers the ability to display modules within the gallery in order to allow for the easy placement of banners or additional information.

At the moment, JoomGallery offers four such positions:

  • jg_top: Modules published in this position will appear above the JoomGallery pathway.
  • jg_btm: Modules published in this position will appear above the Credits.
  • jg_detailbtm: Modules published in this position will appear within Detail View, below the detail image and the Motiongallery.
  • jg_detailpane: Modules published in this position will appear within Detail View, below the Image Details. If 'Accordion' is active, the module appears within a slider.

If you have suggestions or ideas for additional module positions, just let us know in the forum.

To publish a module in one of these positions, you need to enter the desired position into the select box (see illustration) by clicking on it (you won't find the position name in the select box), as only positions defined in the current template are availble in the drop down box by default.

Beginning with v. 1.5.0, it is also possible to display modules on specific pages of the gallery. For example, let's say that you wish to publish a module above the pathway, but only on the homepage. This can be accomplished by using the suffix "_gal" in the module position name:

'jg_top_gal'

... where 'jg_top' indicates the position and '_gal' specifies the gallery home page or gallery view as the page where the module is to appear. Without the suffix, the module would display on all pages of the gallery instead.

The follwing suffixes are available:

  • _gal: to display a module in Gallery View only
  • _cat: to display a module in Category View only
  • _dtl: to display a module in Detail View only
  • _spc: to display a module in the top lists and the search results
  • _fav: to display a module on "favorites" page
  • _usp: to display a module within the user panel
  • _upl: to display a module on the Upload Page

These are the seven we considered most useful. However, it is possible to address all other pages by using the value of the while 'func' parameter in the URL of the page. Lets say for example, say the URL of a given gallery page where you wish to display a module on contains the string "&func=createzip" (ie. the value 'createzip' right behind the parameter 'func'). In this case, using the position name 'jg_btm_createzip' will do the job: It will appear above the credits, and only on the page which offers zip downloads.

Please look at the image. You can define it in the backend of the module.

@KoPoJIb: Please read the instructions above carefully. Type the text of module position in the box directly. They are not already defined. So you can't choose them.

Absolutely rocking!
Thank you.

p.s. to those that did not get it yet: MANUALLY TYPE VARIABLE using your keyboard, not SELECT (i also did not know you can TYPE, and only was trying to SELECT)
