After a period of more than 3 months in alpha stage, JoomGallery MVC is finally ready for the public beta stage. As already mentioned, the code was completely rewritten to follow Joomla's 'Model View Controller' structure (MVC). It is possible to use template overriding for the gallery with this step. So you are able to create your own templates for JoomGallery now. Furthermore, the possibility of using batch and java upload in frontend ultimately found its way into the gallery.
A list with further improvements is attached to this post.
Now we need your help in order to eliminate the last bugs. It would be very kind of you if you tested the new version extensively and report back in our forum.
Once the MVC version is stable, it will be possible to upgrade the version 1.5.0 and higher.
Please remember to create a complete back-up if you already want to update an installation.
Unfortunately, some extensions still don't work with this version of the gallery, but the necessary adjustments will be done soon. Downloads

- Batch and java upload in frontend.
- Possibility of template overriding.
- Select multiple images and make simulataneous changes to the images details (description, author etc.) in the images manager.
- A new option that allows to disable the category descriptions in the gallery view.
- A new option that allows to disable the category descriptions (sub-categories) in the category view.
- A new option by which content plugins can be applied to all descriptions in the gallery.
- Meta keywords und meta description for every image and every category.
- The access level of categories can be changed directly by clicking on at the list in the category manager.
- Improved ordering functions in the category manager (as to the list and arrows for moving a category).
- 'Apply' buttons in the backend managers.
- A dropdown box in the edit view of the images manager to move an image between categories.
- The integration of the community components was removed from the configuration manager. This will work entirely via plugins from now on.
- The default images folders were moved from the component directory into the 'images' directory of Joomla.
- Improved slideshow with more options.
- New manager in backend which will be responsible for the maintenance of the gallery.
- and many more small improvements.

What a nice addition! Very nice upload system, I was just thinking about how nice it would be if joomgallery had this, and then here it is! Thanks for the update!

SEF no longer works with it... the links to individual albums all link back to the component landing page.
Once I turn off SEF and mod_rewrite in the global config it all works.

Hi,
After upgrading my joomgallery, I got problems such asJGS_THERE_ARE_PICTURES_IN_CATEGORY and so on. Is there anybody how I can remove this. This also shown everywhere such as JGS_IMAGE_OF_IMAGES

The joom buton plugin is great when writing an article, but I would love to see it enhanced to allow you to upload a photo right there, instead of having to jump between editor and uploader.
