As announced previously, today we are publishing the BETA 1 version of Joomgallery.
Please note that Joomgallery BETA1 should be used in testing enviroments only. In no case it should be used on a production site! Please backup files and database before migrating, as data of the pictures and database will be moved during migration.
We give no guarantee whatsoever regarding the functionality and applicability of the BETA1 version used at production sites, and will not give support for such use.
In this stage of development the presence of bugs in the Joomgallery code is likely and normal. Therefore, we can not be held responsible for any kind of damage which may result from the use of Joomgalley BETA

Your contributions will help us to develop a stable version shortly.
Due to the fact that we concentrated on working on the code, extensive documenation is not yet available for JoomGallery at this point. Initially, we will publish articles in the in the FAQ section that deal with a number of key issues. Later on there will also be a complete documentation.

The JoomGallery Team
JoomGallery is the official successor of Pony Gallery ML. It works in Joomla 1.0.x and in Joomla 1.5.x with activated legacy plugin. The main downside of PonyGallery ML was that stores all images inside the same folder. This has now been improved – JoomGallery saves all pictures in separate folders as category.
Features:
- JoomGallery offers an extended and simple configuration.
- CSS based layout that can be modified in the backend.
- An animated view directly out of the category view or out of the detail view in Lightbox, Slimbox and Thickbox3 is possible.
- Manifold possibilities in the detail view:
- Voting
- Commenting
- BBCode for exernal linking
- "Send to friend" feature
- Adding of name tags ("That’s me!")
- Owner of the picture
- Description of the picture
- Configurable connection to Community Builder (CB) and Community Builder Enhanced (CBe)
- All display options can be switched off
- Search feature
- Activating EasyCapture to avoid spam is possible
- Displayed pictures or downloads can be watermarked
- Configurable download of original images or smaller versions, with access rights
- Access to the categories can be restricted
- Users can create their own galleries
- Quotas for number of uploaded pictures and user-created categories
- A configurable view of Toplists, with an adjustable number of pictures:
- top rated
- last added
- last commented
- most viewed
- Several upload possibilities
- Backend: single upload, batch upload (Zip), FTP upload, Java upload
- Frontend: single upload (quantity configurable)
- Beside GD or GD2, ImageMagick can be used for image processing
- All pictures of one category are stored in an own folder.
- A migration of pictures and folders from PonyGallery ML is possible.

The beta is great! Really looking forward to an RC to start using in a production site - any ideas of how far off an RC is? :)

Congratulations.. It´s really a very good gallery..
What about the possibility of an option to regenerate the images with new size parameters..

We are very eager to have this in production. We've tried other products and are NOT satisfied with them.
