The developer team
M. Andreas Böttcher (mab)
In short: born in 1964, carpenter and computer scientist for systems integration. Self employed in interior work. Living in Detmold.
In October 2005 I was looking for a gallery component for a planned website. Of the components directly usable in Joomla, I only liked PonyGallery. But it did not fit my requirements, e.g. it was not multilingual. Thus, without any PHP knowledge and overestimating my capabilities, I started to modify the gallery and published the modifications.
The extensive feedback of the users was my motivation to continue working on it. But without the help from other people this project would not be possible. I would have to capitulate regarding the needs of the community without Benjamin and Andreas joining the team.
Besides, the planned website has not been realized until today because I’m using nearly all my free time for further development of the gallery and support. But I will continue to do so, to realize my vision of this gallery …

I’m living in Hamburg and working in application development. Due to the fact that one of my hobbies is photography, I built a website with Mambo and later on with Joomla!. This lead me to the gallery components of Joomla!
After working with Menalto Gallery2 in the beginning of 2007 I heard of Ponygallery ML. This gallery was in my opinion efficient and easy in handling. Before, I had been looking for something like this in vain.
Further on, the support of mab and b2m amongst others in the german Joomla! Forum impressed me a lot. The dedicated thread with thousand posts is legendary by now. At that time I started with modifications of the frontend by CSS and programming PHP. I'm a team member since August 2007.

I’m studying computer science since 2003, and also found my way to PonyGallery as user. Some years ago I started an international community for tabletop games based on Joomla. Since the beginning, PonyGallery was a used at the site because it is the only gallery integrated into Joomla! that I was convinced of.
It was very advantageuos for me that the then abandoned PonyGallery was actively developped and supported by mab and the other as PonyGallery ML.
After some time, I could contribute e.g. the Community Builder plugin and some other small features. Because the gallery is a significant element of my community, I’m glad to belong ot the team.

I am 18 years old and still go to school.
Some months ago I started to learn PHP because we wanted to change our school website to Joomla. And there we were in need of a component for coaching exchange, amongst others.PonyGallery ML was our first choice for a gallery component.
Besides our school site, I started to work on the website of my table tennis club. Unfortunately we decided to use Joomla 1.5, so we couldn’t use PonyGallery ML. Thus, I decided to port PonyGallery ML to Joomla 1.5 by myself.
The feedback I received in the Joomla portal was very positive. And so I joined the development team.
Mainly I will be responsible for a native and bug free version of the JoomGallery running in Joomla! 1.5 natively.

I’m living in northern Holland and working in an electronics shop.
I was looking for a good gallery program for my family website (family tree). With the PonyGallery I could realize all my ideas.
Finally I started to translate the PonyGallery ML into Dutch and mab called me to join the team.
Even for the website of my "hot air ballooning" club i'm using the PonyGallery ML.
Hermann Maurer (Hermann)
I am working as systems administrator at an IT service provider company.
Just like others I found the PonyGallery ML while searching a gallery for Joomla. This gallery fits all my needs. The main difference to all others is the enormous helpfulness of the team.
Thus I decided to make a russian translation of the gallery to support the team and to make this gallery more attractive.
My photo gallery certainly runs with PonyGallery ML
baijianpeng
Mr. baijianpeng is the founder and master of http://www.joomlagate.com website, one of the most active Joomla! fan and user on the world.
He is a Chinese man now living in China mainland. After his casual first glance at Joomla! in later 2006, he fell in love with it and began to translate Joomla! Core and various extensions into Chinese and introduce them to Chinese Joomla users via his website.
He is the Chinese language translator of many famous Joomla extensions such as JoomlaXplorer, eXtplorer, FireBoard, PonyGallery, etc. Let alone the Joomla 1.0 and 1.5 Core. He is still working on Joomla everyday ...
The test team
Dennis Rowedder (Wuslon)

I am a self employed web worker. After some evaluations of other gallery components, PonyGallery ML is my absolute favourite.
Crabwise I became acquainted with b2m and aHa. Resulting from a private project, I defined more and more wishes for the gallery and thereby step by step I turned to be a tester.
In other words I now have to live with the certitude to be responsible for all the bugs of a new release resulting from not having tested all possible configurations.
Fact is that mab, b2m and aHa are doing a great job in the spirit of open source. I am glad to have a share in a small part of this gallery.
Claudia Engel (Claudia E.)

I am a teacher in an elementary school in Berlin.
Everything I know about PC/web is worked out by learning by doing. In the beginning of 2007 I tried out Joomla. I have never searched for a suitable gallery. for Joomla, since the beginning I used PonyGallery ML. Meanwhile I tried out other galleries but I am always happy to have my PonyGallery ML.
In this team I could be all thumbs , and I am relying on everything working easily. I'm not able in programming, so maybe I represent the main part of the Pony- (Joom) users.
Thus I am happy and thankful to test the JoomGallery fulfilling daily use
René Eitner (einfachfernweh)

I am so to say the globetrotter of this team.
After a trip through Asia I had the idea to launch a community where other people could place their photos.. So I obviously was in need of a gallery component
Adter a short search I stumbled upon the comprehensive PonyGallery ML. But then there was the problem: How to do programming? After some experimentation it worked quite well.
By now I cannot go without Pony/JoomGallery. I am glad that there are so many brownies working on this gallery in their free time!
